FELICIDAD COMPLETA

Antes de terminada la casa
visitaremos la obra
bajo la influencia del alcohol
y nos preguntaremos dónde estará el dormitorio.
Dónde estarán el living, la cocina
y la recepción. Y dónde
haremos niños y,
después de haberlos hecho,
dónde los pondremos.

Hurgaremos en los ladrillos
preguntándonos qué ratas vivirán allí
y qué fantasmas, en el futuro,
harán surgir el pasado desde el revoque,

por dónde irán los caños y los cables
que serán los nervios de esta casa.
Habiendo contemplado todo eso,
hallaremos el cemento fresco todavía en el zaguán
y entraremos en la historia con nuestras huellas.

BLISSED OUT

Before this buildingis completad
We will walkin the foundations
Under the influence of alcohol
And wonder where the bedroom will be.
Where will be the living room,
The kitchen and reception? And then
Where will we make children
And, having made them,
Where will we put them?
We will place our hands into the breezeblocks,
Wondering what rats will live there
And what ghost, in years to come,
Will drag the past up from behind the plaster,
Where the wiring and the pipes will serve
To constitute this building's nerves.
Having contemplated these things,
We will find the still wet concrete in the hall
And make ourselves, in foot-prints, into history.
