Todas estas...

todas estas partículas de conocimiento

son un palo que llevo en mi mano
proveniente del gran vacío
de un día en el mar

miro dentro de las ramas
y no veo nada
excepto el viento
y su desgraciada persistencia

los médanos se inclinan hacia mí
y la fétida verdad
es el saber
que tendrás que irte de este lugar

la rama flotando
obsesionada en si misma
como un cuerpo
que tiene que transformar lo que ama

Peter Ackroyd (Inglaterra, Londres, 1949)

(Traducción de Daniel Durand)

all these...

all these particles of knowledge
are stick which I carry in my hand
pulled out of the vast emptiness
of a day at the sea

I looked up into the branches
and I saw nothing
except the wind
and its persistent insect

the dunes incline towards me
and the noisome truth
is the knowledge
that you will have to leave this place

the branch floating down
haunted by itself
as a body
having to change what it loves
